Cavalia Odysseo Dream Photoshoot
A thought of “What if?” became my dream shoot for the world’s premiere equestrian show and largest touring production. I was invited to photograph their media performance to provide photos of specific performers to be sent to the local news stations, newspapers and online media outlets in the Phoenix area. I was given front row access to photograph from any position I needed. The low-light stage and lighting certainly made it tricky and I got my workout as I quickly moved positions, up and down stairs, to get the right angles during the show. I delivered a few hundred photos to their marketing team and was given permission to share a few of my favorites in this post.
Two weeks later I was asked to photograph black/white portraits of all fifty performers to be used in the printed program. I was able to go behind-the-scenes in their wardrobe and practice tents during the photoshoot as I met and photographed all the performers. They come from all around the world to perform in Odysseo and are incredibly kind, jovial and in top physical condition.
All the administrative staff I met with were so kind, professional and passionate about the show and the equines. They run a tight ship which is critical for such a large production. The whole experience was magical and I am so grateful I was allowed the opportunity.
